I still believe Watts was the only pitcher that could beat Rowan (with his talent and experience), but you have to give Rowan's bats credit,,,, they've been awful strong as of late, and Rowan certainly played well tonight.

Billy Veal pitched eight strong innings tonight to earn the win. I'm glad Gantt decided to stay with him when it didn't look too great only on. He pitched great. Austin Shull had a big hit as well. When the bottom of the lineup does something good, it's usually gonna be a good night for Rowan. Jon Crucitti's three-run SHOT in the bottom of the eighth was a biggest hit as any. Crucitti has been struggling lately, but that hit will certainly do him some good. The ump wasn't the most consistent umpire, but I've seen worse. Great win tonight by Rowan, I know they had some doubters. I hope people are starting to believe in this team. Jake Watts didn't do bad tonight at all. He didn't get much run support, but credit Veal, he had a lot to do with that. Rowan will play neighbor and familiar foe Mooresville Monday night at 7. It's good to see the two Area III teams left unbeaten in the tourney.

While the "Little" may be an understatement, the "Boozie" part is very well deserved.
