    NFHS BASEBALL RULES

    According to the 2006 Rule Book (p.61)

    Art 6:
    1. Winning and losing pitchers determined as follows:pitch 4 or more innings team is ahead and holds lead.
    2. Game <7 innings:
    Starting pitcher pitched 3 or more innings
    If starting pitcher can't be declared the winning pitcher the following criteria will be used.

    - At tie score results in a new contest
    - If the starting pitcher remover before 4 IP, the iofficial scorer decides gets the win.

    That explains a lot. I have seen games where a pitcher pitched a perfect game thru 3 innings, then left, but didn't get the win...other times a pitcher starts and throws 2 innings and received the win. I never quite understood how they decided who got the win.

    It was easy to do, I just blew the dust off the ole rulebook (Braves, you thought I couldn't read...:woohoo: )... and here we go!!:bananalam
