Sad News from McDowell

    Local sports figure's tragic end

    Friday, March 7, 2008

    Shortly after deadline Thursday night, The McDowell News learned of the death of a well-known figure in the local sports community.

    Authorities said Harold Bragg, who is in his early 30s, sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

    He is a McDowell High teacher who served as the first responder (trainer) for McDowell’s athletic teams.

    Bragg was a standout baseball player for the Titans and McDowell’s Post 56 American Legion team in the early ‘90s.

    This is such a tragic story. God bless his family.
