WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What a tournament for a great cause.........OK heres the deal, Central Davidson has a great pitcher, probably the best i've seen at using several pitches.............AC did score on the play at home, i saw the play and the video, the problem is that it don't matter what is said now, the game is over............the problem started in the first when AC had runner on 2nd with no outs and didn't score.................


Great tournament, great singing, great food, great atmosphere and a turnout.......thanks to everyone who participated.............

 

Although I have seen some great pitchers in my years as a coach, I would put Chelsea Leonard in the same class as Crystal Cox. Elite Company. Some pitchers have one spin , speed and a change, but very few have 4 effective spins, the velocity and mastery of the location. She is an elite HS pitcher. Hats off to Ms. Leonard....and her team.
The "Safe at home" granite plate is a great example of where we all can be if we trust in the Lord. This is a great testament by the Crouse Family. The memorial speaks the truth. The celebration of the life of Tiffany Crouse was simply awesome. Alexander County is a special place.
I am very fortunate to be the leader of our program. I am proud of my ball club and we may get to be pretty good by the end of the year.

Saft at home

I was there sitting right behind the batter's box on the bleachers. She was definitely safe. I too thought the ump was not watching that play since it was not the play at first that he was anticipating. He appeared to be out of position to make a good call on that play. But he is human and that was not the only call he missed on Saturday. He was behind the plate for two other games and appeared to have a hard time with his strike zone also.

 

What if she were called safe?

Do you think there would be much debate over the call if the ump would have called her safe? I was there and thought she was under the tag, but what does my opinion mean? Nothing! It was a bang-bang play at the plate. Those are moments you never forget, whether it goes your way or not. I was just glad to be there and see such a great game. Do you think Central Davidson scores one in the 7th if AC puts one on the board right there? I guess we'll never know. This is a great game.

That announcer is like that all the time. He is funny. He does it at the County Football games and cracks people up. It doesn't matter who you are, he'll call you out. Makes people feel appreciated in a way.

Coach a great job, great idea, and fine representation of what is good in softball at the HS level! On Chelsea, she is the best pitcher I have Coached. She has great movement, awesome placement, and is so competitive U better come ready to play when she is on mound.

Before I get a rash of comments, Ashton Ward is an awesome pitcher and a great all around player (SS and hitter) but Chelsea is a little further along at this stage in her career as a pitcher. That said, Ashton won almost every time she took the mound.

 

You know i was so impressed with what i saw sat. i don't know where to start. Probably one of the best fields in the state for softball, not only did we see some of the best teams in the state, we saw some of the best coaches in the state, hats of to coach Lambross for the donation, and to all of the coaches that participated, and several coaches came just to watch, Coach Sherrill you have a quality team and a solid program, great to see you back at AC, Can't think of anything that could of been better except for maybe better weather and an AC win................alot of money raised for a great cause..............thanks to everyone......:

 

Was there and I saw that too, is this something that is coached?

We have heard from both sides about umpire's call. Some from stands, some with videos and pictures.
The umpire made a split second call with out the benefit of all the cameras, videos, etc. May have been wrong may have been right but in close games either an error, a mistake, or an umpire's call is involved at the end. One side is always unhappy! Sounds like a great game with two great teams and two of better pitchers in NC.
