Saturday Update on All Regional Finals

Interesting scenarios with the success of teams playing on the road, other than in the 4A East Bracket, and how in all four classes, great reward for the teams that took care of business on Thursday and Friday so they get to scout their opponent in person tonight; of course they probably won't see their future opponent's #1 or 2 pitcher, who would be available by next weekend, but at least they'll have an idea of what to expect from the hitters and the back end of the pitching staff

1A East: Game 3 Tonight: Voyager @ Dixon, Voyager won game 1 on the road 3-2, Dixon won game 2 on the road 15-0

1A West: South Stanly has clinched a berth in state finals, beating Hendersonville in game one 11-1 and game two 5-3

2A East: Whiteville has clinched a berth in state finals, beating Northwood 4-1 at home in game one and winning 7-1 on the road in game two

2A West: Game 3 Tonight: Randleman @ East Rutherford, again road teams won first two meetings, Randleman in game one 4-2, ER won game two 13-7

3A East: Game 3 Tonight: Eastern Alamance @ CB Aycock, EA won game one 6-0 on the road with a no hitter, Aycock won game two 7-1 on the road

3A West: Weddington advances past North Buncombe, winning game one 10-1 and game two 12-2

4A East: Game 3 Tonight: Richmond @ Middle Creek: These are the only teams playing in a Game 3 in which the home teams won the first two meetings....Middle Creek won the first game 7-0, Richmond won game two 6-2

4A West: WA Hough advances over East Forsyth, winning 2-1 in the first game and 4-1 in the second

East 4A Middle Creek advances with 9-2 win

Middle Creek hit the ball all over the field. The Richmond County Raiders took an early 2-0 lead and the Mustangs scored 9 straight runs to win 9-2. The four errors by Richmond did not help.

Good luck Mustangs in the championship game.

The second straight year that a Tri-9 team has appeared in the championship game. Holly Springs won it all last year with some kid named Carlos Rodon!
