Wow.... I didn't read the whole post but I can't believe that they were allowed to host a state tourney if they didn't have very good accomodations. Porta jons??? No lights?? Making fans leave between games? That sounds rediculous. Thank you Pitt County Post 39 for putting on a great tournament in a first class stadium.

feel bad for the players but it was pretty damn funny reading about the games being delayed because so many players had the squirts from the bad BBQ they served up.

I always knew that mustard based stuff was bad for you. :barf:

There were no reasons they couldn't have played this at Wofford. The cost would have been irrelevant (minimal). That's a beautiful place!!!!

What choice did they have about food in Spartanburg? It was either a godforsaken BBQ or hamburgers from The Beacon---either place was risky.

As a parent of an American Legion player, I cannot fully express my gratitude for the Salisbury Post’s coverage of the American Legion tournament, but must express my most sincere gratitude for the Rowan County American Legion Posts for all that they do in support of our youth.

I have been a spectator at innumerable American Legion games in Rowan County and still marvel at the dedication of our true heroes, our Veterans, at the time and energy that they expend supporting the youth of Rowan County. These men and women offered the ultimate sacrifice for their country and continue to serve us through their dedication to American Legion Baseball. I have never met a group of more dedicated individuals who continue to serve their Country through their service to the community. Teams come and teams go, but the American Legion Veterans are always with us, supporting our Country, our community and our youth. Bless each and every one of you!
