Pineville and Statesville were washed out and will play tonight at 7:00 at Jack Hughes Park

Morganton and the Chaos will square off in Morganton tonight at 7:00 while Lake Norman will take on the winner of of the Pineville/Statesville game tomorrow night at 7:00 at Hopewell High School.

 

Pineville wins!

the Pioneers win a barnburner in extra innings last night over the Stateville Owls.

8-7 in 10 innings.

Down 6-3 going into the ninth the Owls put three on the board to tie it and then held the Pioneers in the bottom half. Statesville then went ahead in the top of the tenth 7-6. the bottom of the 10th saw the Pioneers get 5 straight base hits to win in walk off fashion on an RBI single by Jeff Barkley.

Pineville Pioneers advance to Championship Series

The Pioneers beat the Lake Norman Copperheads tonight 8-4 to advance to the championship series. Best 2 out of 3 starts tomorrow at Morganton.

Home game for the Pioneers on Friday night at Jack Hughes Park.

 

Pineville Pioneers win game 1

Pineville takes game one from Morganton (9-4) in the SCBL Championship Series. Game two at Jack Hughes Park in Pineville tonight at 7pm. Morganton finished with the best record in the league and will be ready. Stay focused Pioneers and keep playing well. Should be a great game!

Thanks TBR for clearing up the results. (Pointstreak had Pineville winning two games last night, unless my reading comprehension absolutely stinks. Made it hard on this Aggie fan.)

Win or loose, It's been a pleasure to watch the SCBL games and how these players play the game hard, with hustle and teamwork. I've seen them compete, communicate like ball players, take advantage of opponents mistakes, collide with fences, with each other at the homeplate, "talk up" one another, and have some good laughs thru it all.

Win or loose, i hope they take the experience back to college and have great baseball seasons and take the same work ethic back to the classroom.

I would like to add how impressed I was for one kid inparticular.

Nolan Gaige - CF Lake Norman. This kid flat out raked from day one and ended with a 4-4 performance in a losing effort to Pineville Weds. night. he was 56 -122 on the season for a .459 BA! Are you kidding me? The kid from NY must like the hot humid south or was it the girls from Lake Norman? Heck, might have been the sweet tea but what ever it was, I've never seen anything quite like it. Kudos my man.

I completely agree with you, it has been a blast to watch all them teams of the SCBL compete this year. Lead changes, comebacks, disappointing loses, and WOW type wins have all been exciting. Sad it to see it almost over. Good Luck to both teams tonight, but pulling a little bit stronger for my Pioneers!

The Aggies rolled into Pineville last night and took care of business with a 7-0 win over the Pioneers to force game three back in Morganton tonight.

One game for all the marbles.

Should be a good one.
