AMEN, Couldn't have said it better myself, and I tried!

That is the hard core truth of the matter, isn't it Abbey Fan? Dance with the one that brought you! I also agree about the great college teams in the area. You can have a lot of fun just going and watching some good softball. For those of you with younger kids, take them to see the older kids play, every chance you get! It encourages them to look to the future and set goals for themselves!

    I APPRECIATE YOUR UP FRONTNESS!

I don't think anyone was pointing fingers or naming names, but I appreciate your coming up front in support of your DD! But let it be said, that if that same coach, you are referring to, wanted to, he could have helped your DD get that scholarship, at that major university, whether she played HS ball for him or not! But as I posted earlier int his thread, do what you feel you should do! But that doesn't neccessarily make it right! If all the other players from ER HS, wanted to and could, move to CC's area, should they? And if they do are there going to be some players that don't get to play, due to the numbers? What about every other kid in the distrist of CC, should every player from the entire district move their DD to CC? Is CC the only school with a great softball program? NO! Everyone can not go to the same school! Okay there is the academic side, if your DD didn't already have the academic side covered, then she wouldn't have gotten that scholarship anyway! Major universities do not give out scholarships (for softball) to kids that don't have the academics where they should be! Now while I appluade your being there for your DD and trying to do what you feel is best for her, I also think she would have been sussessful where she was! The TB team is a winning combination for ya'll! It is that simple! Because if it was not, you would change that as well!

Trying to word this without showing disrespect to ER, But CC coach's opinion is valued far more than most, as is ND coach with the college coaches.Yes she is on a successful TB team that will get her exposure.I guess I'm just trying to help her get more prepared for college transition, so she will be successful, get her degree, & not have to sweat all the little things that dad has to.

    the player

Hopefully in these transfers that occur with the objective to get to a better coach, academics, college preparation situation, etc the teenage player involved is initiating the request to their parents or at least they are strongly in favor of such a move.

This has been a very interesting thread; many viewpoints and many explanations. What I like best about this thread is the fact that it was a hot topic, yet everyone in disagreement did so in a civil manner.

    Thank you

    transfers

We have had several offers and requests to move so that my DD could play for another high school team and I was all for it because all I could see was better competition and more exposure. My DD vetoed it right off the bat saying that she couldn't do that to her teammates on her little 2A team. We'll try to get our exposure on the summer team. She is the loyal one and I'm proud of her for it. Just my two cents worth...:cowboy:

It appears that you are raising an independent, smart young lady....congratulations! She will do well in whatever direction her future leads her.

And keep in mind, exposure is not a college coach's priority during the school season. They have so little time because of their own season, that the little time they do have is spent watching the players they have already signed.

You'll see them all summer and fall.

    what

Curverise, good for your DD & her loyalty.

If you don't mind the question, what do you mean by "We have had several offers and requests to move"?

    Nice...

Don't think that set of parents that you mentioned above needs any advice. They are raising their kids to be great, hard working kids with minds of their own and a sense of what is good and decent. Their kids care about others and that is really hard to find these days... Hope my 3 girls turn out exactly like them. I would be honored........

PS. Both of their older kids will end up playing somewhere in college based on their own hard work and merit.:58:
