That makes the McDowell loss even bigger. Titans could have pulled into a third place tie if they would have won and Alexander Central loss. Watauga's win makes them a lock for 2nd place in the conference.

That makes two in a row for the Blue Devils (4-5, 3-2) who are trying to claw their way back to .500 after going 0-3 to start the season. A home game with N. Iredell awaits them next week. NPC 3A Playoff implications will be on the line.

Ragsdale 5-4 on the season, 3-2 in conference. Off next week then finish up on the road at undefeated Asheboro. Even with a loss Asheboro has first place sewn up and Ragsdale can do no better than fourth. Bummer. It will mean one sucky playoff seeding.

Oh well maybe they can catch Asheboro sleeping and ruin their perfect season.

    Watauga 23 E. Burke13

Watauga defeated a pesky E. Burke bunch tonight. E Burke has some offense of their own. But in the second half Breitenstein and the offensive line woke up. WHS may have still been feeling some ill effects from last week. Eric rushed for 271 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 57 yards and another score. He rolled up 328 total yards of offense and surpassed the 2000 yard mark for the season.
