OK, I'll admit...Breitenstein was good, but any person can run the ball for big numbers provided they have an offensive line that can create the holes. Watauga's O-line was perfect in that they created the holes and kept the McDowell defenders away from Breitenstein and to the quarterback.

Can't comment on them, but what I can comment on is McDowell's kickers' coach, Joe Hester. Hester, the culinary arts instructor at MHS was somehow hired to a position he knows absolutely NOTHING about. He knows more about spiral hams instead of spiral, end-over-end kicks for touchbacks, PATs, and field goals. I mean, what was Dave Haynie thinking when he hired this guy? He should have been hired to cater the pre-game meal instead of actual coaching! But seriously, this guy, not Kincaid or Stephen Haynes, is responsible for allowing visiting teams to start in excellent field position. Watauga's average start was at their own 47 yard line, which is horrible!

I remember a time when the soccer player that kicked the furthest and most accurate was drafted to play for the football team, no questions. People like Bryan Corn, Wes McKinney come to mind. Please MHS, hire a real kicking coach and get us a kicker that can contribute!!

I didn't realize he was the kicking coach or any coach at all. I just thought he was the bus driver and they let him stand on the sidelines for the home games.

 

He's the kickers' coach. I saw that in the game program.
