wncsport--Did you see the game? It was at an odd time -5pm-and I couldn't make it..just wondered about some details... evidently Ford lit them up pretty good.

    Freedom vs. Watauga

Freedom played pretty good, Ford played very well. She had 20 at half time and left the game with about 4 minutes to go. She was 11-16 2pt's, 4-9 3pts, 6 assists. Watauga played hard cut the lead to about 8 or 9 at one point, but got into some foul trouble with Butler and Brown and couldn't get any closer. Ford has now eclipsed the 700 pt mark for her career and is averaging 28 ppg this season.

Freedom hosts Crest on Wednesday and TCR on Friday. Christmas tourney starts next tuesday vs. West Caldwell.

I know Dunbar had scope surgery last spring cause she missed playing AAU basketball with the Burke Jammers this summer...that's a State top team where she played with Ali Ford of freedom and was coached by Ali's dad.
    That's terrible news.

I'm sorry to hear this about "Pooh" Dunbar. I was really looking forward to the game tomorrow, but the real issue here is her health. I hope she will be OK.

Roberson will still put up a fight, but I'm afraid without her, their chances are much less.

I wish everybody else a healthy season, and hopefully she'll be back sooner than later!

Looks like MtnBall is taking a big early lead?

I didn't get to the game until the fourth quarter because of prior commitments, but from what I hear East did indeed slow the game down to a crawl early on but McDowell was able to get a margin and increase it gradually.

I really hate to hear about the injury to Dunbar, that is indeed a big blow to Roberson.

FYI: McDowell is 8-1 on the season which gives Mike Silver a record at 632-197 in his career. Mike is now 6 games away from Bill Rucker (638-252) for 3rd All-time in the State of North Carolina.
