Yea Alexander shouldn't be to tore up. They made a few very correctable mistakes. The QB had a couple passes dropped late(great covrage, but great throws also) Alexander actually scored the tieing TD late but a hold brought it back and then evidently some junk talking down there resulted in an unsportsmanlike penalty that made it a 25 yd penalty. (I think the refs got payed by the flag last night) This is just one instance. Alexander shot themselves in the foot a few times. But North has lost many many games like this the last few years. Glad to see them take advantage of mistakes, and finish the job.

Alexander will be fine. QB throws the ball well and that big reciever will catch the ball more consistently as the year goes on. Good Luck to the Cougers. They will be fine.

yep

they lost 10 starters on offense from last year. they played friday w/o their starting qb and center then their starting half back went down with a badly broken collar bone on the second series of downs.....prolly for the season. the back up qb weighs a whopping 112 lbs. the o-line appears to have problems as well. i dont think they had 50 yds offense the entire game. it could be a long season in motown. our coaching staff will earn their pay this year for sure.

South Granville 23 Bunn 19. The upset special of the week (maybe the year). I was at this one and what a game. First year coach Mike Hobgood former N. Durham player and UNC won his opener for the Vikings. After seeing this program go 3-30 over the past three seasons and get beat badly in several games this is quite a win. The Vikings trailed 19-0 at halftime but threatened to score a couple of times. They showed tremendous poise and heart in the comback win. They trailed 19-9 with 4:40 on the clock in the fourth quarter. They drove the ball 97 yards to make it 19-16. After a 3 and out they scored again for the win. Congratulations to Coach Mike Hobgood and all his staff for having these guys ready to play. It doesnt get any easier next week against a very good Southern Vance team. But we will enjoy this one for a little while yet.

 

AC has more talent than it has had in years! They seemed lack a little bit of heart and motivation last week! Enough of the wake up calls!!
