How does a team rally from down 21-0 and win? The lightning break must have had a negative impact on Williams....

    Foard/Maiden

Great tough fought game tonight at Foard. Maiden couldn't hold onto the ball early in the game. Foard capitalized time and again on the miscues. They got up on the Devils 21-6 early in the game. The tide gradually began to swing in those suttle ways that it takes a while before you realize that the game has gotten away from you. But at the half Maiden had creeped back to make it a 21-20 score at the break.

2nd half was defense oriented. 8 minutes left in the 4th Maiden had the ball down in the Red Zone and failed to make any headway on the scoreboard on 4 downs. Foard ran the ball out to around midfield before having a 3rd down and short play that was a handoff that Owens tried to break outside but was tackled. Huge decision on 4th and 2 around midfield with 4 minutes left and FTF punted the football away. Maiden drove the ball down the field once again into the Red zone. Huge play when Foard appeared to wrap the game up when Johnson(Maiden QB) lobbed a pass to the back of the End zone that was intercepted... But... hang on.. There was a pass interference call on the play that gave Maiden new life. They seized the opportunity with Johnson taking the snap and running a QB draw up the gut that had been ran the entire night for great gains.

Foard got the ball down 26-21 after the Maiden failed 2 pt conv. FTF drove the ball down to the 35 and the last play of the game heaved a pass down the field that didn't provide any points.. But... once again.. hang on.. Personal foul roughing the passer call on Maiden and Foard had a untimed down. The QB was pressured and forced to run.. It appeared he maybe was going to have a chance to run a heroic TD and win it but the Blue Devils shut him down just short of the goal line. Wild entertaining game.

Observations from the game.... Johnson kid for Maiden is their stud. He is their QB.. Kicker, Punter, huge part of their defense as well. Great athlete. Foard's RB Quentin Owens has not lost a step from the exciting plays he made last year. Just at times it appears the Unifour teams have saw him for a year and are now more prepared to stay at home and wait on him to cut back. Overall both teams are still great teams with great athletes. Bad side to this game is that it should be a tough turn around for these teams to have to great ready to play another tough opponent in 3 days! Great game though once again by 2 of the Unifour teams!

Final Score Fred T Foard 21 Maiden 26

so i guess the young miller boy is doing fine at quarterback. both of his older brothers were excellent players at huss. his family moving to clover was a huge blow to huss's football program, but this was the right thing to do for the boy himself. i always thought he had more talent at qb than his brother brandon (who was awesome at that position) and i bet he will be widely recruited as a result of this. PP, i cant remember this young mans name. how about giving us some stats and a few minutes of fame for this young man??

    Thanks

Thanks alot VI.. thats really my first one getting to post like that. Most of the time by the time I get home from games and go to post, someone has already posted something summarizing the game that I was at. I was close to getting a coaching job at numerous area schools from what I was told but a few days before my applications got sent out online, all the schools had finished wrapping up their coaching staffs so now me and my dad go to best games around. You may see us if u go to a game around the Unifour area. My dad is handicapped he used to be a Bapt. minister till 2 yrs ago had to resign due to diabetes and now he has both legs amputated below the knee. So if you see anyone like that, go up to the young man pushing him or the older gentleman and ask if any of them is named Robert haha. Thanks for the compliment VI. Maybe I should go into reporting or something lol.

    Mooresville

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Mooresville travel to Alexander Central next Friday night? Me & My dad normally sit on the visiting side @ AC due to it being easier to push a wheelchair to the side and still see with the homestands being built up and its harder to get to.
