Caldwell County (11-4, 8-3) defeated Cherryville (15-4, 8-3) by the score of 8-0 on Thursday night at Fraley Field. Caldwell got a great outing from Josh Severt (complete game 5 hitter) and flawless defense in pulling even with Cherryville within the Western Division of Area IV.

Big July 4th games with Cherryville playing Shelby and Caldwell taking on Rowan County.

    Area III South

    South Rowan 7 (10-4 division)
    Concord 3 (6-11)

South Rowan remained a 1/2 game behind Stanly and Lexington in the Southern Division of Area III standings by defeating Concord, 7-3. Rowan County has a firm grip on first place with a 15-1 division record.

South's destiny is in their own hands at the remainder of their schedule shapes up like this: Kannapolis, Mocksville, Lexington (2), Stanly.

The first one, the 19-4 game, is the game that counts for division play.

Eric Walker Memorial Game against Mocksville Cancelled due to rain. Do not think it will be made up, great memorial ceremony by Mocksville to honor Eric. Gave his parents his Mocksville Jersey framed. Very emotional evening.
