Well, I just saw where northcarolina.ihigh.. posted Rose 7, Hoggard 5. They also said Hoggard wins series.

    Obviously a mistake somewhere.

    Independence 14 Page 6

Independence pounded out 20 hits and Zach Farry picked up the win as Independence won 14 - 6. They continue to play team ball with contributions coming throughout their line-up. Great job by a great bunch of kids.

Playing a team with "better players" hasent been any for those boys at Indy.

They have the best team CHEMISTRY that I have ever seen..

I wish they would have had some of that at Butler

Rose is the one to be worried.

The thing that impresses you about Indy is this: Winners find ways to win...and they can play any game (small ball or long ball). That team will battle anybody and can hit with the best of them. It should be a great series

Indy's ability to play "small ball" should keep them in the series against the power-hitting JH Rose team. It seems to be a neglected skill at many schools and it places tremendous defensive pressure on a team that isn't used to it. Every player in the line-up can bunt and bunt very well. Errors will probably decide the series one way or the other.

Has anyone else seen both Rose and Independence play? I've been fortunate enough to see them both this year and both are impressive, but for different reasons.

I really look forward to this series.
