Scoring Symposium?

    Last May (and occasionally other times) we had some discussion about scoring. We talked about possibly having a gathering to discuss scoring issues for those who enjoy scoring games or for those who are interested in learning more about scoring or becoming more proficient at it.

    Some areas of discussion could be:
    1. The golden rule of scoring
    2. The 1-2-3’s of scoring – plus the 4-5-6-7-8- and 9s.
    3. Hit – Error or both?
    4. Calculating earned runs
    5. Accounting for all advances
    6. WP vs. PB
    7. RBI or AOT
    8. Multiple errors on one play
    9. Errors on non advancing plays
    10. SB or DI
    11. FC or E
    12. Sacrifice scoring
    13. Handling Interference and Obstruction
    14. K-WP/BP
    15. WP/PB & ERs
    16. Winning/Losing pitchers
    17. Saves
    18. Handling out by appeal
    19. Physical errors vs. mental errors.
    20. Scoring software

    I am sure there would be plenty of case situations and other questions as well. I was thinking maybe Sunday the 27th afternoon as that way, no one interested would have to miss a possible pre-season scrimmage.

    Southwestern4Abaseball.com would love to have someone from each school that would volunteer to score and then send us the data. That way our web site could include more statistical data and recognize more kids on the site, which is the goal of SW4A.com. If you have an interest you could send me a PM.

    great idea...

    This should be very informative and I'm sure some lively discussion will ensue!

    How about CBC for a location?....might be surprised how many attendees you have.....I assume they would be glad to allow a meeting of this type at their place and most know how to get there.

    Awesome agenda, by the way.....

    Great idea! There are so many questions out there and this would be a great opportunity just to get together and talk about them. The myths and the rules.

    CBC will absolutely host it on the 27th. Braves/Mincmi PM me to set it up.

    Any update on this event? Sunday evening would be nice, as there are likely various scheduled activities for many prospective attendees on Sunday afternoon that may be in conflict....
