This is my opinion of the big "0".

They are a dangerous team. Many, many, young talented players as well as a good returning Seniors. Watch out for the following players:

    Kelby Turner
    Clay Smith
    Nate Staton
    Brandon Hill
    Thomas Hovis

...there are so many to mention them all. Big "0", help me out!

They will be very good this year, but next year they will compete for the conference championship

I hope each school posts their players by position, but here is my prediction for South Meck:

1st- Elliot Arrington- Junior All Conference

2nd- Justin Rummage- should be SS, signed with UNCC

SS- Ben Kerr- should be 3rd b, signed with UNC-Asheville

3rd Base- Kyle Shelton- Junior All Conference, excellent 3rd B, can be excellent at 2nd

    Catcher- Bart Johnson, Senior
Snapper Stanford, Junior - both are excellent defensive players.

OF- Brett Robinson- signed with UNCC

OF- Chip Pope - great arm and good stick..also the #1 pitcher

OF- Scott Pesta- will run down any ball hit

OF Clayton Erickson- the boy can hit!

players who will compete for positions:

    Austin Henderson
    Will Sloop
    Zac Kennedy
    Josh Cable

    Pitchers:

    Chip Pope
    Charles Vartainian
    TJ Worrell
    Kevin Spain
    Elliot Arrington

Also going back to the SW topic.....Olympic is over the next few years becoming more and more of a neihborhood school, and this is an area full of lots of talent. I would deffinitely look for them to be major contenders over the next several seasons. But I had another question for anyone who knows.......I havent heard anybody say anything about Waddell.....what are they suppose to be like this year?

If I'm not mistaken I think Kerr's going to UNC-Asheville.

What do yall think about this Worell kid over at South. I have had a chance to see him play on several occasions and to form my own ideas. But after his season last year, do you all think he is the real deal?

    Braves:

If the John Sloop that you are refering to is Will Sloop, Will, a Junior, is not going out for baseball at SM this year. Here are the players that I think will be competing for positons on varsity:

Austin Henderson-Junior - 2nd Base (tough luck going out for the same position as Rummage who is good and also a senior.
Scott Pesta-Junior - OF (pending on his bat)
Clayton Erickson-Junior - OF (pending on his speed in the OF)
David Oliver-Junior - OF (pending on his bat and his speed in the OF)

and, I think that the following players will be added to the varsity pitching SM roster along with the other pitchers that you mentioned:

    Zac Kennedy-Sophomore
    D. J. Lingerfelt-Sophomore

I think that Cable will be kept down on SM jvs in the starting catcher's position.

Just my thoughts with nothing to back it up with!

Hello all....maybe it would be better to start a new thread with this question, but speaking in the SW4A, who do you all see as some of the best kids that no one knows about. The guys that for whatever reason they have not been picked up on the radar yet. This also could help get a few kids names out in the open.

THEBIG"O": Great idea, please start a new thread with your following thought:

"Speaking in the SW4A, who do you all see as some of the best kids that no one knows about. The guys that for whatever reason have not been picked up on the radar yet."

Great idea but since it is your thought, I think that you own the right to start the thread.
