Randleman

Randleman beat Parkland 6-4. It was actually a pretty sloppy game for Parkland so there is hope if they pick it up. I suspect Andy will get em going..

 

Charlotte Christian @ Gastonia Ashbrook

10 inning game. Trey Laney, Mason Bradley and Andy Clifford each threw two shutout innings for Christian. Several Knights with a multi-hit game including Ty Linton, Adam Hill, Scott Glover, Luke Bard and Laney. Bard did not pitch because he had just returned from the state basketball tournament this morning.

 

West Henderson defeated Roberson and McDowell.

 

First Great Weather @ Alexander Central and an excellent run scrimmage. Class acts up there... Umpiring pretty good, no missed calls in the field, behind the plate pretty good also. Had 4 umpires there switching in and out.

Alex Central over Bunker Hill, Ashe County over Bunker Hill. Don't know the Alex Central vs Ashe County results.

Mooresville Over Bunker Hill pretty handily. Ian Walters(soph) 2 innings, J. Mays(sr) 1 inning. Great hitting for Mooresville. Great pitching for Mooresville. Bunker Hill still missing about 4-5 players still playing basketball.

Mooresville over Ashe County 7-4. Chris Beaver(sr) looked strong but defense let him down in this one as most base runners because of 1 walk and fielding errors. Chris Bonaventure closed 1 inning, looked good. Ashe county can hit the ball...Talked to one of the dads and they had limited field time, but cage work is working. Pretty impressive those boys from the mountains.

Mooresville loses 1-0 to Alex Central. Aubrey Meadows(sr, UNCC) again looked dominate for 2 innings with 5 strikeouts. Brother Aaron closed. Run scored on walk, error and hit.

Mooresville starts Wed at Mallard Creek HS, JV home vs Mallard Creek.

Nash Central at Triton

I was not there but I heard Triton won 5-3 inspite of home runs by Alex Pearce (singled also) and Xavier Macklin for Nash Central.

Bill Clark had 2 hits
Blake Gosselin had a double

Lance Honeycutt pitched 2 innings for Triton giving up 3 hits, no walks, 4 k's

Alex Pearce and Xavier Macklin both struck out all 3 batters in their inning on the mound.

 

Butler @ Mt. Tabor

Butler was to scrimmage at Hopewell, but the fields at Hopewell and Butler were too wet. Mt. Tabor stepped up and gave us a place to play ball. Mt. Tabor's field was in great shape and the weather was better than it was in Charlotte. A big thanks to the Tabor's coach for allowing us to come up and scrimmage.

A marathon game, I believe around 14 innings. Pitching was average for both sides with a couple of guys showing better control than others. Mt. Tabor's defense seemed to be solid and they hit extremely well behind runners, making the most of their scoring opportunities. Tabor's #15 (didn't get his name) had at least two nice hits to centerfield. Butler had some miscues in the outfield, but hit the ball fairly well. Doubles by Rawlings, Brewer and Tewell (2). Yandle went yard with a bomb to right center. The lead went back and forth but I believe Mt. Tabor bested Butler by a run or two in the end.

Anyone with better stats or corrections, please post.

 

Providence panthers?

Is Providence high school the Providence Panthers or South Charlotte Panthers? Same coach, most of the same players. Im confused.

 

Scrimmage between Southern Alamance, Northwood and Person rained out. I hate it because we needed another one...
