South Meck played well tonight against Central Cabarrus....it got cold and I didn't keep any real stats. I did keep up with the pitchers...South pitched (hope I didn't leave anyone off):

    Morris (Senior)
    Andress (Senior)
    Rollison (Senior)
    Moody (Junior)
    Walker (Junior)
    Darnell (sophmore)

The Seniors looked good but the "young guns" did very well also and should be able to eat up some innings for South.

I know it is the first scrimmage but South Meck came out swinging the bats....they appear to have more team speed from top to bottom than last year.

Could be an exciting year if everyone stays healthy and focused.

I apologize to any Central Cabarrus fans as I didn't have any type roster to give any highlights for Central Cabarrus players....

    Scrimmage

North Henderson edged R.S Central yesterday 5-3.The teams played pretty well for their first time on the field.I think both teams will be a force this year.

Dbacks,,,,, I realize you don't have any Central Cabarrus names, actually they lost some key players last year and I'm not as familiar with this year's team either,,,, but how did CC look overall?

Btw Wossa,,, I may make the trip to Jamestown this Saturday for the Kannapolis/Ragsdale scrimmage. Send me a PM how I can find you.

    Dbacks,
I like that young pitcher Darnell at SMHS. I didn't realize he's only a sophomore. He looks good enough to pitch at the varsity level to me. His future on the bump looks good...

He's easy to spot on the weekends: Hints

    - he will be escorted
    - he wears a solid orange jumpsuit
    - the said jumpsuit will have quite a few numbers stenciled
    - and everybody knows him in Jamestown...just ask for markateer

    1-4 does not = a highlight...

it's .250. that's not a highlight, unless you usually go 1-5 then you're at the mendoza line.

    tj21,

They didn't play that bad....they made some errors but South Meck was hitting the ball hard. Offensively they struggled against South's pitchers, I don't think they got a base runner until the 6th inning. CC did have a couple of pitchers that threw the ball very well.
