    South Meck Scrimmage from Saturday

South Mecklenburg split a pair of games at North Forsyth on Saturday in the team’s final tune up for the 2006 season. The Sabres out scored Glen High School 10-0 in their first game and lost 2-1 to the host Vikings in game two.

North Forsyth played very well...it was great to see Addison Johnson on the mound for North Forsyth in their first game against Glen.

Good luck to all the teams with their "Season Openers" this upcoming week. South Meck has a busy week opening with Hopewell Wednesday at home, visiting North Meck on Friday and Watauga coming into town on Saturday.

    Keep the updates coming.......:woohoo:

    scrimmage

North Henderson was up 6-2 after 7 innings vs Erwin. North pitchers looked good for early season and their bats are coming around. The left handed pitching kept coming for North along with two good right handers.

    Recon0321 and Mudcat

Mudcat - you've been sandbagging big time. West Henderson is young, but they sure know why they take a bat up to the plate. They did a great job stroking the ball, as well as playing small ball at times.

The other scrimmage game held at Hopewell Saturday was Butler vs. Hopewell. It was a tight affair with Hopewell scoring 3 runs and Butler 2.

A couple of standout players were Andrew Smith (Butler) and Seth Grant (West Henderson) in my opinion.

Thanks to both Butler and West Henderson for making the trip over, all of us at Hopewell enjoyed having you and are grateful that the rain held off.

Posting scrimmage results as wins & losses is pointless IMO.

    Heck SoutherNo1,

Most of us in this group would post T-Ball scores....it's just that old competitive spirit coming out.....but you're right....the scores that count start this week.

Let the season begin!!!!! Good luck to everyone.:ylsuper:
