Season Outlook

hotbed for softball players our(i have roots there and a few branches in my family tree) county provides!!!

both teams are goooood and look forward to seeing them play.

anyone got the Robinson schedule??

 

You're right, North Davidson is one of the best coached teams in the state. Davie's coach, (assisstant) doesn't get enough credit, people only see the quiet side, he is a good guy, wants it bad...so I think I would watch your backs, Davie is out to get it this year...

 

Davie High is out to get it this year, they have 8 of 9 starters back, they might be young, but they are going to be strong, look out...

I agree. Davie is the sleeper team in the CPC and they will give West Forsyth and ND a run for the conference Championship. This team has decent pitching, great hitting & great defense. The shortstop and center fielder on last year's team were 2 of the best around. Hopefully they did not graduate.

If I'm not mistaken, I think almost all of Davie's starters play on the same summer team (carolina crushers i think) and have played together for many years. That team is well coached (I think by one of Davie's assistant coaches) and has been extremely successful over the years. This team has seen the ND pitcher many times over the summers and in school ball, so they should do well against her. As for the west pitcher mckensy, I have never seen Davie play west, but I think Davie has a better hitting team than west, but mckensy is arguably the best pitcher in the state this year. So we'll see. GO WAREAGLES!

I hate to say this, but the only thing that will hold Davie back will be their head coach. The assistant BO7 mentioned should have been named the head 3 years ago. My neighbor's daughter plays for Davie and the things I have heard (and seen) about how poorly the coach runs a practice and manages a game are embarassing. Too bad when there is a quality assistant coach who coaches these girls in the summer who could step in and do a great job.

MOST OF DAVIE HIGH V PLAYERS HAVE SPENT SEVERAL SUMMERS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF WHAT WAS CAROLINA STARS COACH, AND IF YOU KNOW SOFTBALL YOU SHOULD KNOW WHO THAT WAS.MY HATS OFF TO THESE YOUNG LADIES IN THEIR UP COMING SEASON. MY DD HAD THE HONOR TO BE ON THIS TEAM LAST SUMMER

Most of Davie's Varsity was on the same summer team last year, Carolina Stars, coached by Ben McKinney, good coach, good guy. They formed a "little softball family," and thats what is going to be a PLUS to Davie's season, the bond the girls have for each other. The centerfielder is just a Junior this year, and the shortstop for last year has moved to 2nd base this year, where she has played for the past 2 summers. The infield is going to be tough to get through, then they have the strong arms in the outfield to back them up. Also, the 3rd base sophomore, will be holding down the 6th position this year, and word has it centerfielder's sister (freshman) will be on the 3bag. They are going to be a strong team this year, they have just got to stay healthy, and stick together. About the coach situation, no comment.

I truly expect that it will be a dogfight in the CPC this season. The top three in recent years are now going to be challenged by South Rowan. They were able to topple both ND and DC last season and appear to off to a great start. Although, Reynolds is still way behind ND, DC, WF and SR; their coach has to be one of the hardest working in the conference.

Well CCHSvikefan81 there is nothing wrong with winning and feeling good about yourselves, but try to remember that the girls at West Charlotte may not be the highest ranked, but they show up and play the game and they have feelings just as any normal human being has! In order to win you don't have to lose your compassion for others in the process. Just a thought! Every girl out there playing softball anywhere should all want to win, but remember to have fun too! Play softball because you love the game and any game that you love should have fun involved.
