    High Point Andrews 0 - R.J. Reynolds 10 (6 inn)

Playing in (hopefully) the coldest and windiest game of the season Friday night the Reynold's Demons beat Andrews 10-0 in 6 innings.

    WP - Hampton Foushee (2-0)
    LP - Chris Nelson

Hampton Foushee (Sr.) pitched 5 innings and was in total command the whole game. He gave up 0 runs, 2 hits (singles), struck out 10 and walked 1. Torrey Johnson (Sr.) pitched the 6th inning and set down the Andrews batters 1-2-3.

Chris Nelson (Sr.) pitched the whole game for Andrews giving up 10 runs on 10 hits, striking out 8, walking 2 and hitting 1 batter. Unfortunately for Chris his teammates made 3 errors in the field and had a tough time catching fly balls due to the windy conditions.

    Reynolds Hitters
    Nick DeRose (Sr.) - 3/4, HR, 3 RBI's, 3 Runs, 2 SB
    Jay Laramore (Sr.) - 2/4, 3B, 2 RBI's, 2 Runs
David Orr (Jr.) - 2/4, 2 2B, 3 RBI's, 1 Run (Drove in 2 runs w/ 2 out double in bottom of 6th to end the game due to 10 run rule.)

    Andrews Hitters
    Chris Nelson (Sr.) - 1/3
    Ty Conners (Fr.) - 1/2

Reynolds plays NorthWest Guilford today (Sat) at 6 pm at NW Guilford field.

I'll yell ya "O"....as far as Greg Conrad and humility, they go hand in hand. Greg hasn't spoke more than 25 words since the 7th grade....just kidding RSPM:D. Greg is a great kid and wonderful teammate who would be the last player on this earth to become "full of himself". He has worked hard to make himself a top pitcher and a pretty good hitter. I'll tell you...Les Demming at Myers Park can't wait for Greg to graduate:)

What a week for Michael Melton-2hrs and a complete game shutout !
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. How did Johnson look ? Pretty good first outing for a freshman pitcher.

Hats should go off to Greg, as he was a very "smart" pitcher tonite. He kept Hopewell off-stride all night. The Titans were without a major starter - Andy Oliver (illness) - his absense, both offensively and defensively were sorely missed on the team, who we all know doesn't have alot of depth. Some key hits by Olympic, along with some missed fly balls by the Titans, resulted in a 6th inning break out by Olympic, securing the game for the Trojans. Only hits from the Titans came from White and Dozier - Greg certainly came "with his game" and he deserved this big victory. The young Titans certainly have their work cut out for them next week, facing their cross-town rival North on Tuesday and the always potent Central Cabarrus on Friday.

    Independence 11 Butler 9

    Indy 0 0 1 1 1 3 5 - 11 10 4
    Butler 0 0 6 0 0 3 0 - 9 8 3

    WP- Robby Bray 3-0
    LP- Daniel Whitten 0-1

This was a great game to go out and watch. It was a see-saw game the whole night. Indy jumped out on top scoring 1 in the top of the 3rd. However in the bottom of the third Kevin Glass hit a 2 run homerun and Travis Neesmith hit a grand slamm to make the score 6-1 after 3. Indy kept clawing back the next 2 innings to make the score 6-3 after 5 innings. In the top of the 6th Daniel Cooke hit a 3 run homerun to tie the game. However in the bottom of the 6th a few errors and pass balls allowed Butler to regain the lead 9-6. Indy would just not go away though. After an error on a bunt scored 1 Tyson Hibbs walked to load the bases. Butler then brought in closer Kevin Glass to try to finish the game. But with the bases loaded Cooke hit a double to right that scored 3 to take the lead 10-9. Cooke then got to 3rd on a pass ball and then was squeezed in by Aaron Bray to make it 11-9. Robby Bray shut Butler down in the bottom of the 7th to give Indy the win. Leading hitters for Butler were Kevin Glass 1-3 HR 2RBI, Travis Neesmith 3-4 2B HR 4RBI; Indy: Daniel Cooke 2-4 HR 2B 6RBI, Shayne Miller 3-3, Steven Miller 2-4.

    Independence 11 Butler 9

This was an up and down game. The wind was blowing hard which caused a lot of balls to really fly. However, the three runs scored by Butler in the 6th was done without a ball being hit out of the infield. Some sloppy play and mixed signals hurt Indy in this inning. Both teams fought hard in this game. Cooke's bat has really helped Indy the last few games. It is good to see them start putting runs on the board. By the way, Robby Bray is 2-0 not 3-0 as reported in the paper.

    Olympic 9 Hopewell 3

Greg Conrad is no longer a secret. Anyone who has seen him pitch knows he has what it takes. He mixes his pitches well and doesn't tip you off as to what he is throwing. His battery mate aint bad either! Olympic will be interesting to watch this year.
