Nice article in today's Charlotte Observer about Garinger and the turn-around there under Coach Staviski. It says a lot that he got 30 kids out to tryouts; in recent years recruiting was necessary to field a varsity team. Good luck to these players and Coach Staviski; it is great to see good things happening at Garinger. I look forward to seeing Alberto Turudo play -- six steals including a steal of home against Berry!

Oops -- I see NC has already posted the article over in the "Two outs" thread.

No big deal ... after going 8 winless seasons, I wouldn't mind if we took that entire day and just posted about Garinger...

Ultimate feel good story for those kids.

Ragsdale lost at home to Burlington Williams 3-0.

I missed most of the game so I don't have any stats. I know the Williams starter pitched 6 1/3. Trevor Mullins pitched a complete game for Ragsdale to take the loss.

Not sure if Williams is supposed to be good or not but they shut down the Tiger bats last night.

Ragsdale now 2-2 on the season.

    Piedmont 10 Forest Hills 0

    Piedmont 10 Forest Hills 0 (5 Innings)

Piedmont (4-0) had an impressive win @ Forest Hills (2-1) yesterday.
Bryan Parker (1-0) threw a complete game shut-out giving up 4 hits with 5 S/O's.
Jeff Logan was 2-3 and 2 RBI's, Taylor Clontz had a 2 run 2B and the #9 hitter Cody Rape was 3-3 with 2 RBI's. Piedmont hit more like I thought they would coming into the season. They had 12 hits on the day.

Weather permitting, Piedmont hosts Charlotte Country Day today at 4:30. Rob Lyerly should be the starter for Piedmont.

We need more out of Charlotte results guys ....

I want to hear how everyone is doing this season. I guess I'll have to start getting the Raleigh, Fayetteville and Wilmington papers.
