Senior Citizens/Handicapped Citizens

Many senior citizens, myself included over the age of 65 enjoy attending high school games. The cost of fuel and ticket prices is getting to the place that many of us can't afford to go to games. I understand that some of the county school systems give seniors cards that allow them to see games for free. Does anyone know if the NCHSAA has ever considered a card (we could use our medicare card) that would allow handicapped or citizens over the age of 65 to attend high school games free state wide? My observance at many HS games over the past several years is that, in my opinion there aren't very many over the age of 65 or handicapped attend. I think that if a program was in effect, it would give others a chance to see games and a place to go for many of our seniors. What do you think. Your feedback is requested.

 

Paul, I think that this is a great idea, & should be brought to the proper channels.I strongly feel that our senior citizens have paid their share of county & state taxes,& should be entitled to certain benefits.I also feel that after 65 yrs you shouldn't have to pay anymore taxes period but that's another subject.Another idea would be to have some designated seating possibly at ball games, say where you wouldn't have to worry bout being hit with a foul ball.I really would like to see this come about as my dad would fall into that category.I would like to see the gold cards be good in playoffs also.

This should be done for all seniors,Wonder if the NCHS could issue a pass of some type,good for all sports and all games including playoffs.
