I am putting online all the information I have on Wayne County Post 11. Wayne resumed Legion baseball 1960-68 after playing it 1945-47. I noticed in my research the term "Junior Legion" in the forties and the first year or so in the sixties. What's a little confusing is that the 1947 team had a pitcher as being from Goldsboro High School, so maybe it was a matter of semantics. But that term was used frequently in the newspaper stories. There were playoffs.

The Goldsboro News-Argus had a picture of the 1960 team and called it "Goldsboro's first Junior Legion team." The players look young. Some of them played three or four years. That "first" could have ignorance of the existence of previous teams.

I don't intend to post any junior Legion stats, but I doubt there were Junior Legion leagues way back then. Who's a reliable source for all this?

Yes, they are loaded, but this year teams don't have to worry about Bunting, Pritchard, and Yow so in my opinion, they're not quite as good as they were last year.
