    Kent Basinger left the team for some reason. I am at the beach and I will try and find out on Saturday. I don't know if Rowan would consider pitching J-Rol (Justin Roland) or not. I really want to see him pitch but I don't know what Gantt's thinking is or not. Zack Simpson will definitely help considering Rowan doesn't have many lefties on the team this year. Trey Holmes has pitched this year but he hasn't been that effective, but he has done a decent job considering he hasn't pitched that much this year to begin with. He lost his velocity after that elbow injury and he leaves that breaking ball up and it gets hammered. All in all, Rowan's team is coming together very nicely and once the pitching staff is sorted, they should be really good. The hitting has been there all year.

    WP: Tanner Brown (4-1) (8 strikeouts and no walks)
    LP: Bradley Love

    Rowan improves to 7-4 (15-4 overall) in Area III South league standings with a surprising 10 run rule game at Stanly County. Tanner Brown pitched a complete game four hit shutout as Rowan has received back to back outstanding performances from starting pitchers. Rowan has a huge game at Mooresville Saturday night as Billy Veal will get the start. I would expect Aubrey Meadows to be starting for the Moors.

    Ahoskie.............. 4 (7 innings)

    This was ugly from the get-go. Ahoskie committed 8 errors, leading to 17 unearned runs. This was the score after 5 innings, and it would have been good to end it then. The Wilson crowd began pulling for Ahoskie pitchers to throw strikes.

    Jacob Davis had his third HR in two nights as Wilson improved to 4-1 in Area I East North Division, 12-3 overall. Wilson takes the weekend off and travels to Pitt 39 on Monday.

    Rowan's winning streak is halted as they drop a league game to Mooresville. Billy Veal started the game for Rowan and gave up 6 runs in the first inning. Mooresville hit plenty of bloop hits and bleeders to help their cause along with Rowan dropping flyballs and popups which is very uncharacteristic for a Rowan team. Rowan fought back to make it 6-5 and was on the verge of getting out of the inning when third baseman Noah Holmes threw the ball away at first allowing two runs to score and the Moors added a run that same inning after that error. Just sloppy play tonight for Rowan which resulted in the loss. Russell Michalec and Noah Holmes both hit homeruns for RC. Aubrey Meadows started the game for Mooresville and went 3 innings before the hour and a half rain delay. They then brought in their # 3 pitcher Scottie Williams who earned the win. Nick Lomoscolo pitched the last two innings holding Rowan off. Rowan is finally back home Sunday night when they host Statesville.

    After an hour & half rain delay right at gametime, John Jay Tuttle pitched a great 9 inning complete game to get the shutout win.

    Seems like Kannapolis has been on the road for the past 3 weeks, and play their final road game tomorrow night at South Rowan,,, before returning home Tuesday to play their final 5 games all at home.

    LP: Justin Kidd
    S: Walker Snow

    South (7-4) moves into 3rd place with a win coupled with Rowan's loss. Park picked up the win after inheriting a runner and pitching 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief of starter Randy Shepherd. Snow hit a 2 run double in the 6th to tie it and an RBI single in the 8th to take the lead. He also pitched the 8th and 9th to earn his 4th save, stranding the potential tying run on 1st with the help of a great diving catch by RF Zach Wright to end the game. Corey Norman was the starter for Mocksville, going 7 and giving up 4 runs (all earned). Kidd relieved and gave up 1. Brandon Stewart homered for Mocksville in the losing effort.
