    Rowan gets their 4th league win of the year to improve to 4-3 Area III Southern Division and 8-3 overall. Mocksville jumped out in front 3-0 early but Rowan answered for 7 big runs in the top of the 2nd. Both teams sort of traded runs from then on. Rowan continued to rake homeruns with Austin Shull, Micah Jarrett, and Billy Veal all getting roundtrippers. Rowan jumps out of league Monday night when they host Eastern Randolph.

    Durham scores 3 runs in the top of the 9th to improve to 3-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

    Durham is at Clayton (SSS High School) @7pm on 6/14.

    Mooresville 11 8 innings

    Pitchers duel until the 6th inning.

    Mooresville is 9-3 and 7-0 in League play.

    South Rowan is 9-7 and 5-4 in league play.

    Visiting Post 13 scores in top of 9th to win its Area I East North Division opener and climb to 7-0 overall. Edenton was opening its season. (With gas prices, no one outside of conference is willing to travel that far.)

    Wilson travels Monday to face a very good Kinston team.

    Wayne County sweeps Edgecombe County 8-3 and Garner 7-2 Sunday to move to 6-0. That doesn't tell me much because it seems as if we have not played anyone good so far: Durham, Benson, Garner, Ahoskie and Pitt 160.

    We'll see starting next week when we play New Bern and Pitt 39.

    Wayne lost 90 percent of its innings pitched from last season. Success will have to come from the offense.
