Just a quick "Hoo-Yah" to all the girls! Regardless of school or district... Good luck!
To the ones who didn't make it in... Keep working. You will make it next year.
To the seniors........ Remember when you were 4-6 years old and started playing youth ball in your hometown? Remember all the other girls who played then? You are one of the few left standing. That counts for a LOT in my book. Give yourselves a smile and a pat on the back.
    Good luck in the future.
    You are all winners!:trophy:

P.S.- Invest in your 401 K's (heavily) early. Retire RICH! Hahaha. That may be the best graduation gift I ever gave anyone!:blah: :blah:

We watched some of our favorite seniors play their last high school game tonight. It is sad and exciting at the same time because we know that they will be successful in their college careers.

    Kelly Davis and Courtney Davis-
We have enjoyed watching you both play over the past few years. We wish you the best this summer and at the next level!

i'm the one who keeps going crazy about the wild card bids, lol! it's cuz my daughter is a senior and she has been to the playoffs the past three years. her freshman year there were 4 freshman that made varsity (and started) and 2 soph the next year, so they have 6 seniors.

allie loves softball and will go on to play in college, but first round of the conference tournament we lost to a team, we probably shouldn't have lost too. Wasn't really errors, just lack of hitting and this team couldn't do anything wrong! I don't want to take away from the other team, because they played great!

but after that game when i looked at my daughter hugging her best friend another senior and the tears pouring out, it just broke my heart!! i could NEVER imagine that being her last game, so i wasn't prepared for that! but in reality it could have been, unless they hopefully get the wild card bid!

so it's been great, but hopefully we'll get one more shot, but regardless, the last one will be tough, when you love softball like our family does!

To the seniors, who have played their last game, you played because you love the game. The joy, skills, sportsmanship that will always be in your heart , will carry on to your sons and daughters forever!

I hear you Susan. Your daughter will do well. What school is she at and where is she going to college?
We want them to stay little but are happy to see them take steps.
Everything is good when we can protect them and we fear for them when it is out of our hands. (drivers license, first car and prom come to mind since mine is in 10th grade).
I'll tell the truth......... If mine can get into college, get a degree and become a productive citizen, I don't care if she ever picks up a ball again to compete.
I do hope that she will pick up one to teach a child starting out how to play and to compete. To believe in herself and those around her.
In the grand scheme of things, softball does not amount to a hill of beans.
The lessons learned within learning and playing the game amount to everything.

    Nice job Bekkah and Leighann!

Great pics, as usual, change-up2 !

I can't wait to teach my grandkids! LOL............ 25 years from now!

Allie is currently at Southeast Guilford and will be at Catawba next year. I totally agree with the life lessons learned from softball!!! That is what is MOST important!!! My hubby and I laughed the other day we were talking about "coaching grandkids" I was saying how it would be neat for them to one day coach together, and I could see Allie out their coaching her kid and being hard on them and fussing at them always expecting their best and I could see my hubby going don't be so hard, their just a kid! lol! (the cycle continues)

My wife collects Fenton glass, art glass, plates, porcelain dolls, etc. The house is full of it. I said "I can't wait to have grandkids" She says "Why"? I say "I can't wait to teach them to play ball!" LOL She dang near died at the thought! LOL
Now..... my wife is not a sports person.........at all. Any way shape or form. The thought of a ball withing 1/4 mile of this house terrifies her. She is afraid I will hit the house or break something. She has nightmares about it. LOL
AGGHH!!!....... damn the consequences! Throw the kid the ball!.............. Duck Dear!:banned:
