Showcase Day

Would all of U on the board please give me some feedback: If Belmont Abbey would have a Showcase Day on January 28, 2006, do U think players from your travel teams would attend? We are thinking about 9-12 Showcase and then play a five inning scrimmage type game after lunch. Depending on the number of campers, we would determine amount of games in the afternoon. Lee will use all his contacts to bring the college coaches out and we can all enjoy the Jnauary sunshine!
If U are an unsigned 2006 grad, this would be a must! If U are a 2007 grad, what a way to be seened before your HS season begins, 2008 and 2009 kids, well U can get your name on a college list in a hurry.
Let me hear from U guys and gals as quick as possible so we can make a decision. RET

Abbey Showcase

We have decided to go forward with the Showcase Day On January 28,2006. It will begin at 9am with sign-ups at 8:30. Pitchers and catchers will be in the first group and will go from 9am to 10am. Both should be warmed up and ready to go at 9am sharp.

Cost is $100 per camper which will include a T-shirt and lunch, as well as your profile in a booklet given to each college coach that attends. We also send booklets to other coaches that request the information and are not able to attend. As U know the Blues run this same type of camp in May each year and it has helped several players get seen.

More details will be forth coming as to where to send the checks and profiles, coaches attending, possible scrimmage games, etc. Coach Swanson is excited about the opportunity to run this camp and to assist the players in being seen by the areas top coaches.

Thanks for all the quick responses and support. We are using this event to assist in the cost of the Abbey softball team going to Arizona for a big D-11 tournament in February. :1peekdoor

Thanks for your support! We are going to work hard to get coaches there and to give the girls an oportunity to show their skills. It will be next week before I can provide all the details. To all, have a great Turkey Day! Remember we all have a great deal to be thankful for in todays world!

 

Update Info

** Send your profiles and $100 check made out to Belmont Abbey Softball to Rodney E Threatt PO Box 23690 Charlotte NC 28227.

To assure your profile information is in the booklet that will be provided to the coaches, I must have the profile and check in hand no later than January 14, 2006. We will limit the number of "showcase campers" to 50 girls, first come, first served. If we have openings after the 14th deadline, we can accept but can not promise your profile will be a part of the booklet. We will however provide your profile to the coaches if U will bring enough copies.
