    On Deck O's - 16U's

Not really interested in posting the details - but I will say - there are a bunch of players on this team that folks may want to take a peek at over the next year or so.

My guess is that alot of these young men will be getting some serious attention over the next 2 years.

Just my opinion. Time will tell.

PG Baseball Championship Series at E. Cobb, GA

The 18U Dirtbags played well despite having 10 players most of the week, and 9 on Wednesday. Tyler Leach (VA TECH/Kings MT) pitched and hit really well, maybe we will have him for a few more games this summer, as the St.Louis scouts were impressed by his pitching. He dominated a very good East Cobb Cubs team with 8 K's in 7 IP and he threw only 85 pitches in the complete game 2-0 win.

In the First game vs the PG Midwest Team, LHP John Phelps (Cheasepeake, VA/VMI) allowed 5 hits and had 9 K's in 6 IP, and Tyler Leach hit a 3 run HR to spark a 4 run 7th as the Dirtbags won 7-1.

IN the tournament the Dirtbags played the East Cobb Braves, one of the top teams in the tournament. We were down to 9 players (other teams had 20-25 player rosters). LHP David Mailman (07/Providence) really opened some eyes as he pitched 5 strong innings against a team with 5 draft choices, allowing 7 runs (only 2 ER) with 5 K's. The Dirtbags lost 7-6 after leading 5-0 early on.

PLayers of note for the Dirtbags (other than T. Leach):

Ryan LEach (Kings MT.) a late call-up, 4 hits in the 3 games
Devin Riddlehoover (MINF / Wake Forest-Rolesville) played really wellwith 5 hits.
Mike Roberts (C/OF/VMI) and younger brother Sam Roberts (INF/PRince George HS, VA) played well.

Other Contributors on the team this past week were:
Jake and Jerod Faggert (NW Cabarrus), Garrett Oakley (JH Rose).

WE will play at VA Tech this weekend.
