Phase 1 is for this fall with max of 35 on roster and max of 30 on scholarship. Phase 2 is for 2010 with a max of 27 on scholarship.

I have linked an interesting article on the subject.

Is that purely "baseball money" or can it be academic money plus baseball money to equal 25%? Thanks!

    Morph..

I like the way the thread morphed to a discussion on scholarships.
As a parent that just completed the what do we do question a year ago.
I always tell kids to hit the books. DI talent is mostly obvious and those players will be found. The remainder of the kids will need significant money from their grades to consider playing in DII or DIII. Most DII and DIII schools cost 25K and Up. There are need scholarships that help, but as I told my son... "when you are 30 years old how will you answer the question Where did you go to college." Most of us say the school and maybe what we studied, only a few can answer I played Baseball at ...(fill in the blank).
If you still have the itch and DI is not looking at you
hit the books.. and Practice the game.. You can still play you just have to be smart about it.:clap::clap:

Point well taken about what your answer will be to that question when you're 30 years old, but that's the same exact reason I chose to simply attend a Division 1 school instead of play at a Division 2 or 3 school. I guess different people's answer to the question of what they want to tell people when they're 30 years old is different, it all depends on the individual. You're right though, most D2 and D3 schools are expensive so getting academic money from them is key.

    itch

some kids have to fail to move on so they have to scratch the itch. DII is much better than they think and the average player can't just showup and play. I did the same as you and tried and failed to make a DI roster. others chose another course.. either way most will make thier money in the business world
