The shrine bowl is and always will be a joke. It's a matter of who kisses who's tail to make the team. We here in WNC are used to the lack of respect and it will probably never change.

Brietenstein definitely deserves the honor but they got him listed as a fullback, which is nothing more than to expose him for what he may play at the next level.

This method of choosing players in why North Carolina has had a bad record in recent years. Just look at all the kids that probably never were considered...Kincaid (McDowell), Spencer ( AC Reynolds) Morgan (Asheville) Wynn (TC Roberson)...it's just amazing what snubs you can put together to make a team.

i agree with all the kids that were mentioned above titandan, but it especially is crazy considering kincaid is leading not just the conference, or region, but the whole state in rushing. spencer, wynn, and morgan are very deserving of the honor.
-congrats to breitenstein he has earned everything that he has gotten as far as recognition for football.

the east part of the state always dominate these teams. however the best players dont always play on the best teams- the shrine bowl misses players every year from east and west that deserve to be there. congrats to the players that did make it and for those left off- make yourselves known in the playoffs. IM SURE wynn, morgan, spencer, and kincaid will find a college campus just as easy.

Are there any requirements besides being a Senior to play in the Shrine Bowl?

I wouldn't count out Kincaid yet. There are always some late additions. I am just crushed for the kid. What else do you have to do? I mean he leads the state in rushing. I am getting madder by the minute.

Oh and congrats to the Watauga kid, he is a stud. I wish him well, I just would have liked to have seen him and Kincaid in the same backfield one time. They would be hell on wheels.
