Nice post Heat, I had been wondering that myself.

Is there a major difference between fast pitch and slow pitch bats other than the slow pitch bats are longer and weigh more?

Well, because they weigh more, they have thicker walls and may last longer as a result. Otherwise, generally speaking, no.
