who's the best player in our coverage area? who's the best prospect? We're talking pretty much everything from just short of Winston-salem to just short of Asheville and stretching up to Richmond County.

According to Impact Baseball, it won't be Cameron Maybin. He's dropped off their player of the year watch for some reason. He must be in one heck of a slump.....

I don't care if its Impact, the Observer or the Timbuktoo Times,,,, if you include the Asheville area in your audience then Cameron Maybin has GOT to be your player of the year. Naming anyone else above Cameron would definitely bring your judgement into question...

In fact,,,,, Cameron is SO FAR ahead of everyone else, he can't hardly even see "#2" in his rearview mirror....

I noticed the Impact list too.

Would love to know what went on in dropping Maybin. You don't just forget a Cam Maybin. Money figures in it somewhere.

I'm sure that money doesn't matter one bit.

    According to Impact Baseball,

"The IMPACT POY is not your regular "MVP Award" or "who had the best season."

The IMPACT POY is a great make-up guy who parades tremendous on-field ability and exudes great leadership qualities on and off the field. He is a team guy all the way and he respects the game. The IMPACT POY is an intense competitor who's passionate about the great game of baseball."

You can read into that whatever you like.

I do not put alot of trust in the impact player of the year. Sure impact does get alot of names out there but alot of real good ones they don't.
