My DD is at her first softball camp this week, but will be back for the NCNSA State by Thursday evening..she is having a blast, but working her butt off...she told me it was like working a job....I had to laugh when she said that comment to me...the girls are on the softball field from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm with a (2) hour break for lunch, and other activities if they can squeeze them in during that time frame...but overall she says that they are teaching them how to handle the over-bearing parent/coach and how to relax while on the field, ignoring the crowds, and how to stay focused to get the full potential from their talents...I thought that was cool !!!! The girls get a personal hitting instruction by a professional hitting coach that critiques their swings and tries to correct any incorrect mechanic..also fielding is observed and fixed if necessary....overall she is not homesick, and having a great time, I just hope that she brings home some wisdom that will better me also....:satana:

    Funny...

If they teach them too much about growing up and handling pressure, they may not need us parents quite so much.....oh, whats that, you mean they are supposed to grow up??? Geez.... :imagestor

When do we parents grow up? :thud:

    Camp Graduate

My DD attended a number of camps/clinics from age 12 on. Now, as a college player, she is working at camp this week and will do so again at another university in mid-july. I cautioned her to remember how much she looked up to the college players when she was a camper and how she remembered those who "nice" vs those who were not. This is another real good experience associated with being fortunate enough to play college softball.
