    Bunting drill

ya ever used this one? two circles 2-3' in dia to the right and left in front of the catcher eight to ten feet out (dead space between pitcher, catcher and third and dead space between pitcher, catcher and first) we paint these on the field and put a dollar bill under a rock in the circle. bunting the ball during live or pitching machine, landing and staying in the circle earns the buck. works and its fun for the girls.

    Oh.....easy there tiger......

......if you used it 25 years ago, (and by the way, so did we) then it must be working. Small ball is not to be underestimated!

heck buddy, i've got girls who can fly, but have never swung a bat (at least in a ball game, lol). bunting is where we'll be this year.

actually, santa was very good to us this year: basketball players in the outfield, volleyball players in the infield and a freshman catcher who's throw makes you want to cry tears of joy. lol

    Hands Down, The Best,Simple.......

.....drill at ALL ages is to put your kids on the field and go through SITUATIONS. "HMMMM, what am I gonna do with the ball if its hit to me". Every player on the field has a place to be when the ball is in play. Oh yeah, I'm referring to defense mostly, but running the bases is situational too. As a player in the field, knowing what to do in ALL possible situations is, well, to me atleast, the MOST important tool that we, as coaches, can teach our kids.

The term for this is called "stacking"...

It allows the player to determine all the options or scenarios available to them should the ball be hit at them. The stacking ( like stacking dvd discs by favorite artist ) let them make the best choice depending on the play.

"Fishman from the evil empire" is correct about it being utilized on defense and offense.

It makes the player use the most important 6 inches on a ball field...
    The one's between her ears....
