I didn't see the stick throwing incident and I'm a SC fan but other than that I was very impressed with the sportsmanship of ACR. I saw several of them after the game come up and talk to some of our players and shake their hands. You guys have a great program and a beautiful place to play ball. All along I have felt your team was just as good as ours and very easily could have won the State Championship had you had a few breaks here and there. You guys can really hit the baseball and seemed to hit the ball hard all night but we made some great plays, especially Brad Hardee in right field at the beginning of the game to keep several runs from scoring. To be honest I was hoping we didn't have to face you guys again because you are basically a clone of our team. Anyway, congratulations to ACR on a great season and I hope to see some of your guys on the legion squad when they come down to MS Deal Stadium in Granite Falls to take on Caldwell County Post 29.

Thanks for the apology rowdie. Joe Stanbury #22 was the injured Spartan that received two gashes to the top of his head (pretty nasty- I saw the blood). The Spartans were told after the last game there (when rocks were being thrown at the outfielders) that fans would not be allowed to sit on the bank anymore. Oh well, hopefully they will be able to identify the fan that jumped up on the wall and hit Joe in the head with the stick. We are very lucky that it wasn't worse.

    Embarrassing

I, too, wish to apologize for the incident in the outfield, although I shouldn't have to - the person who did it is the one who should apologize, however, as a part of the Rocket family, I felt horrible that this type of incident occurred at all. We were appalled and embarrased at the behavior of this person.

I spoke to the player after the game and offered apologies on behalf of the AC Reynolds Rockets program. While I realize that the apology was probably not accepted, it needs to be known that that type of behavior is NOT what we are about. It's a shame that the acts of one person will now reflect on an entire school/program. IMO if the person who threw the object was a player on any Rocket squad this past year - he should NOT be allowed to play again next year.

Our Rockets have had a great season as have the Spartans - congrats to the Spartans on the win tonight, it was your night (although Duckworth and Paeplow should feel good getting HR's off of Maddy - maybe the only ones all year???)

I also wish we had not had to play one another again - but that's baseball and the best team won tonight.

:trophy: To our Rocket seniors and NW4A Conference Champs - you are to be commended for a fantastic year and you will be missed next year - the best to all of you as you begin a new road in life:

    Cameron Duckworth - 1B
    Casey Duckworth - 2B
    Seth Hines - 3B
    Dakota Slagle - C
    JD Durner - RHP/RF
    Brandon Briggs - CF
    Blaine Howell - LHP/LF
    Nathan Berggrun - LF
    Keith Chickos - OF

Spartans - Take it to North Forsyth and go all the way!!! :woohoo:

    We'll see you next year...

you south caldwell fans are classic. one stick was thrown and there was obvious taunting (although a lot less than the previous matchup at acr). the stick wasnt even thrown directly at the player. it was blindly tossed over the fence and just happened to hit him in the head. im not saying i supported the throwing of the stick, i thought it was horrible and wrong, but lets not blow it up too much.

and im pretty sure i saw everything because i was walking down the hill watching the whole incident.

im not getting into another agrument though like i said. im telling you guys what i saw and what i think.

i saw you talking to the player as i left. thank you for doing that and i really do hope that south caldwell doesnt look at our program based on that incident. it is very embarrassing especially knowing that it was a member of the jv team.

i would also like to send my congrats to the rockets on a great year. you guys have really impressed me this year. its just a shame that this matchup had to come so early in the playoffs. how awesome would it had been if these two teams had met in a 3 game series.
