Anyone have any insight into the rotation? Thought I'd try to sneak out to get a look at Bumgarner sometime, but have no idea when that might be.

    Question about Jimmy Messer

I have a couple questions for the South Caldwell folks about Jimmy Messer: One, is he considered any sort of pro prospect at this stage or at least a major college guy. Also, at the last game I went to I heard a rumor that Messer would be too old to be eligible for his senior season. Is that true and, if so, what will he do to continue his baseball career next year? Maybe a prep school or private school?

    PROSPECT

Jimmy will be eligible to play his senior season at SCHS without question. He is a very good pitcher with a good college career ahead of him for sure. After that, who knows?

That's very good to hear. I've always been very impressed with Messer.

I concur with TBA. The thing I like about Messer is he is a bulldog...always wants the ball and doesn't care who it is against. The bigger the games the better he likes it. Jimmy Messer is a legitmate top D1 pitcher

Someone in an earlier post on another thread said Messer and Bumgarner would be wore out by the time the playoffs get here but i doubt that because they dont throw but 5 inn a week. I think the entire South teams biggest asset is there conditioning. You are right Braves Messer would take the ball everynight if needed.

I recall the American Legion playoffs last year when a rising Junior Messer dismantled a very good Garner team that was loaded with college talent. Jimmy continues a line of great South Caldwell/Post 29 pitchers and even better people.

Messer is Very good pitcher and good kid also and comes from a good family too. Also could play football in college if he choose to go that route
