    Good Rivalry

Definitely a good rivalry for players and fans alike, however I hope the school has a handle on the centerfield hill gang this year. Other than that incident last year, I've always enjoyed the visit to ACR.

IMHO the '06 Rockets were as good as any team we played last year, and I'm sure the '07 Rockets will be tough as well. Let's play ball!

I love it. These two teams are loaded with talent. Can't wait to see Runion and Bumgarner battle on the mound this year. Both guys are great pitchers and you never know how it will end up. My guess would be 1-0, in 10 innings or so for uhh: the winner. Who knows, I guess we will have to stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should have said "I prefer our ADULT fans" for clarification purposes ....

don't even get me started about the outfield debacle last year, that was the most embarrasing thing for us - and I agree, I hope they have a good handle on it this year too....

    South Caldwell

You can not talk about this team without focusing on their pitching. I mean it is ridiculous how talented this HS team is on the hill. But the fact is they have some outstanding posistion players on this squad. They are going to be so tough to beat. But they will have some battles. I have always said with a one and done playoff format leading up to the Eastern and Western finals anything can happen. So you can not pencil anyone in. But they are the closest thing to it I have seen in quite some time.

The key with a team like this is staying healthy. Three years ago TC Roberson (Maybin, Jackson, Williams and company) was ranked in Baseball America's pre-season poll and rose to #5 in the country after going 25-0. They eventullly lost in the 3rd round of the playoffs after loosing their ace Josh Thrailkill to a torn ACL. If South Caldwell can stay healthy, they're talented enough to make a serious run for the top spot in the polls.

HS teams like this don't come along very often, so hopefully, they'll be able to relax and enjoy the ride!

The great TCR team that lost to Hickory 2-3 years ago is a prime example of how anything can happen when its "one and out". Hickory won that game and advanced to play NW Cabarrus in the western semifinals which was best of 3. Any team is vulnerable in a "one and out" situation,,, but had TCR beaten Hickory and got to a best of 3, most everyone agrees TCR would've been tough to beat in a series.

I wish the HS baseball playoffs were best of 3 beginning in round 1,,, but I'm at least glad they went to series play beginning in semis. In baseball, just too much can happen in a "one game and out" situation.

Best of luck to the Caldwell boys this year,,, you sure look good on paper.

I know he was hurt. Don't matter. My point is, one game and out, anything can happen, and it did.

ANY baseball team is vulnerable in a one game and out playoff format. No matter how loaded you are, you can still face a kid who plays or pitches the game of his life.

Baseball playoffs should always be series, which would better insure the best teams would advance.
