    wow

    talk about luck.

with the bases loaded, two outs, winning 1-0, needing just that one more out, Ashley SS throws away a ground ball and two more throwing errors later S Caldwell scores four runs to take a 4-1 lead.

    Good Job

What a game! Good things happen if you keep putting the ball in play. Excellent job by both pitchers. GO SOUTH CALDWELL!

    Fans...great game

I hate that the fans acted the way they did really set a negative tone for me during the game.

I was at the game and I didn't notice anything unusual...sounds like the announcers have rabbit ears. Anyway, this was a frustrating game for the SC fans all night long. Many scoring opportunities, but either sloppy base running or could not get the key hit when needed.

Let me say this about Daniel Coffey. Ashley pitcher, Bradley, dominated him the previous at bat and looked to have him mastered his last at bat, as well. But Daniel battled until he was able to put the ball in play. The SS bobbled the ball and the runner at first got a good jump to keep from making the play at 2nd and went on to first...error...error...error..4-1.

First, this is an outstanding Ashley team. Although they did not hit the ball very well off Bumgarner (who does?), they made contact and you can tell they know how to swing the bats. Justin Bradley is a master on the mound; poised, changes speeds, great control. But what I like best about him is the kid is a competitor. Nearly every inning SC threatened to score and every time Bradley would rise to the occasion and get the strike out to end the inning,He is one of the best I have seen in awhile. It was a heartbreaking loss for Ashley. They played near perfect baseball until the last play...but you must tip your hat to SC...those kids will never, ever quit.

You get used to watching Madison pitch so well every game that you almost take him for granted. And that is a shame. Every game the kid is put on a pedestal and he really doesn't want to be there. He is under enormous pressure to perform superman heroics, but what I don't think people realize is that Madison has developed into a pitcher. He doesn't just wing it up there...he changes speeds, inside-outside, up-down and is a heckuva competitor...and I think that escapes attention sometimes. This kid is a COMPETITOR!!!! and one of the most competitive pitchers I have ever seen.

There is another young man that has this same fire....and Ashley will see him tomorrow...Jimmy Messer.

I tip my hat to the Ashley Eagles, but there is a team of destiny as their opponent....proven in the last inning of a game that everyone in the stadium thought that Ashley had won....except the Spartan baseball team.
