I stated in another thread the Ashley shortstop was a vacuum cleaner and I still say he is. I can only imagine that when you're playing this deep you're playing with a lot of raw nerves. You have got to make the plays...especially when they're routine.

From the accounts I was given, Justin Bradley did all that could be expected to earn a win. I really feel for this kid, and his teammate. Pure luck was riding with SC to get this win.

I agree, in the sense that they should have won, but where Ashley scored their run in the only inning that they put a runner in scoring position, SC had runners in scoring position in nearly every inning; Bradley would turn his pitching up a notch to get out of it. He was incredible...but so was Bumgarner. Neither pitcher deserved to lose.

And for those that were not at the game, the play but the SS was not an easy play. He had a runner in front of him that did a good job in distracting him. The bad play was not in the bobble, but he didnt have a play at any base.

The thing one needs to keep in mind is that they are kids...and their excitement in a particular situation makes them do things they wouldn't normally do.

    Fight

There was an attempted fight between an Ashley Student and a Caldwell parent. Both were extreamly out of line and I just felt bad beacause these are two extreamly good teams playing a great game and it was just a blemish. Ashley impressed me with putting the ball in play and making SC as a team beat them in the field. Who can give me the low down on Jimmy Messer. Should I go back to zebulon or take the short trip to see NL vs. ER....ps. I love the south fans you can tell its a baseball school hard to find in my part of the state...Maybe i should move haha

the best baseball of today will be played at Doak Field. the 1A and the 4A series's will be sweeps.

ashley did a great job but last night is a demoralizing loss, that was their chance to steal a game and they wont outplay south caldwell again tonight like they did last night
