there were 2 outs in the bottom the of the 7th.......i accidently put 9th. i apologize. that was the only thing wrong with the post. but if your still confused....

    the score was 10-3.

    south caldwell was batting.

a 2 run homerun was hit by south caldwell makeing the score 10-5.

    there were still 2 outs.

scotland got the final out of the game w/out giving up another run.

    scotland won the game.

    the post made sense.

    why are you confused.

does this post help you to understand??

or does it need to be made clearer??

    good night.

    Great Job

Congrats to both teams in this series. When you get to this level there are no losers. One team simply scores more runs than the other. Also special congrats to the entire Spartan team and the coaching staff on a tremendous season. We had a few ups and downs but we had a blast all year long. The entire team should be proud of the accomplishments that you made this year. Look at it like this there are 353 other high school teams that would have loved to be in your shoes this past weekend. So you have nothing to hang your heads about. Good luck to all the seniors on the team. You guys should do well on you next journey in life. For the rising seniors and up coming juniors we will be back in Raleigh (or wherever) next year to have another shot at the title. Good luck also to all the players who are planning to play summer baseball for their respective teams. I wish you the best of luck no matter where you are playing. Hit'em long and hit'em hard.

    Spartans vs. Scots

Any highlights from the final game. Winning/Losing pitchers, leading hitters, etc

The starting pitcher was Bumgarner for 3 innings, then Poovey for one inning, and Messer for 3 innings, I believe. The Scots had 11 hits early, then SC had 11 hits, just not exactly when we needed them. We barely got past the 5 inning, 10 run rule with a score of 10-1, with SC getting that one run in the 5th, then later to score 4 more runs. Chavis and Hardee had 2 hits each: Chavis, HR and single, Hardee, double and single, Daniel Coffey was a clutch hitter all weekend and all season for that matter. Bradley Craig had one single in the final game, along with pinch hitters Hilton and Allison. SC finally got on a roll too little, too late. If we could have had a nine inning game I believe we could have come back. A couple of errors in left field but not the fault of the player. He fell into the bull pen trying to pick up a ball down the left field line. The bull pen just gave away when he put his hand on it to pick up the ball. Routine the runners never get home, but two score instead. Later the late afternoon sun was right in his eyes for a line drive that just went past him. Two scored again. Four runs that should not have happened, but did. Just wasn't SC's night. Another matter. The fans. Scot fans were great as well as SC's fans. Lots of great cheering and chanting but in the spirit of the game of baseball. Was certainly great to be a part of this atmosphere...beach balls, the wave, cheers, pounding of feet, clapping. NO derogatory comments either way. Great, great atmosphere. Scots great game!! You won with class. Spartans you played with class. Hold your heads high. Celebrate this great season after the sadness passes. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching every one of you play the game the way it is supposed to be played. I know you had a special Sunday service at the hotel conference room and sang Amazing Grace in unison. Must have been special. Carry that with you. To the seniors: Hardee to App to play football, Seter to ECU, Hilton to NCSU, Pearson to NCSU, Gragg to Walters State to play baseball, Allison to community college, Berry to UNC...we will miss you. Best of luck!!!! Hardee I expect great things out of you at APP, you also play football the way it is supposed to be played...smart, hard and intense. You are all winners with great memories to go with it!!!
