South Char..err.. Caldwell vs Myers Park

No kidding. I got off work at 8:00 and drove 5 minutes to the field expecting to see the last 3 innings or so, instead it was the 7th with 2 outs remaining. I spent more time walking to and from the field than I did watching the game. Sure would have been nice to ride that Tram Braves was talking about!!

 

Bigest Upset!

Hickory over TC Roberson, probably the biggest upset in the state. Congratulations to Coach Craft and those Hickory boys.

Braves, it was nice to see ya in beautiful Caldwell County. Glad you made it up.

I just wanted to throw something out there that was SO subtile and un-assuming that I doubt anyone noticed it. Late in the game, there was a slow roller to short last night that Josh Shehan got to and made a great throw to first. It was a great play and well worthy of a tip of the cap.... but theres more. By the time Shehan got back to SS, leftfielder Brad Chavis (the Brad Chavis that hit the towering bomb to put South up 1-0) had sprinted in and was waiting on Shehan back at short just to give a little slap of the hand for a job well done...

Its that quiet respect...friendship...brotherhood that I honestly believe South can win the State because I don't believe there is a person on that team that is going to let down someone else on that team.

 

Who pitched for hickory?

 

I promise you none of SC's player think Providence will be a pushover. They have a talented team that can score in many ways. And as stated SC has struggled with fast pitching. Look for Bumgarner to turn it up a notch though this is what he has been working for along with the whole team. Chavis looks to be swinging well, Coffey always looks good I could go on and on for every player. If we can play a little smarter on the bases we should be fine.
Have to stay with SC all the way. And SC has not lost at home all year

What a tough bracket this has turned out to be....SC, Butler, Providence, Weddington, AC Reynolds, Myers Park....Some tough games...I think the State Champion is in this lower bracket!
Anything can happen but I don't know a lot of teams that could best Butler or SC in a 3 game series with their pitching and hitting...Just an opinion.....We shall see!
Neither may get the opportunity to find out....tough games on Tuesday...

 

Braves, I am sorry I missed you. The Bleacher Bums were on the hill on the right field side. Would loved for you to have joined us. We were a little small in numbers but we were there. Maybe we will see you on down the road.

 

Hey guys...I loved being there last night I was having a little fun with Carolina07. It's the 1st time all year that someone from SC has posted something cocky and I thought it would be fun to tease him a little bit. Rock N Fire knew what I was doing.

Let me be perfectly clear; I like Providence a lot. I mean I like them as good young men as well as talented ballplayers. I'd like to see the intensity they displayed against Ardrey Kell this season. I haven't seen it recently. So, if Carolina wants to help them out....so be it.

Now, having said that, South Caldwell is the best team in the state. I fully expect to leave The Rock with an SC win...and a full stomach.

Good luck to both teams...I respect and admire both team's coaches and players. This game potentially could be one of the great ones.

Also, since I will be a guest at The Rock and I hope and pray to sample another pc sandwich....you have nothing to be concerned about; I will be wearing maroon and white and waving a SC pennant flag

Know em both well. Both HAVE the biggest EGO's on the planet! Don't be surprised if a major "fight" breaks out at some point as it did in (hm 00-01) over at North Iredell with a couple of players gettin the boot. What I like is South talks trash right IN YOUR FACE...while all the Prov faithful whisper in their ears while the continue to pour more greenbacks out of their pockets to show off with when they come in the gate and hit the concessions stand. South hard working take no crap farm boys while Prov as always upper class elite who think there **** never stinks! THESE ARE THE FACTS. How do ya like that Brqavo....
