Does anyone have any insight on who is going to get the So. Meck position?
I have heard that Coach Rummage, Bags key asst over the years, who has been an integral part of the SM program, applied, and was turned down by the AD there. Rummage has been at that school for 8 years, and would serve the school great. As most of you who are involved in Legion ball know, he is an outstanding coach, and most importantly, role model for these players. I simply just do not get it with some of these AD's.
Another great prospect, was also never even called in for an interview, Mike Edwards the JV Coach at Butler. Mike is an excellent teacher of the game, and I think he is a gem waiting to be found.
DBacks, any insight, i would appreciate it. I know a lot of those boys who are left at SM, and they all say they want Rummage, what is the deal with the AD there?

I believe this with all of my heart. When they do make a decision it will be someone people know, but have never mentioned as the coach at SM. I think it will surprise a lot of people.

I play at South Meck and personaly i would like to have Rummage as the head coach because he had been with the program so long and had seen all of us grow through the system. Our AD Dave Collins is horrible and no one at our school likes him. He doesnt understand that Rummage is a good coach and that you shouldnt change something that has had success

Coach Randy Rummage is a great coach and would be perfect for SM...but I don't believe that will be the choice.

Whomever they decide, it will be a coach with a lot of experience and will have a strong track record of success. Too many very qualified candidates have applied for this to not be the case.

But you can strike off the names Coltrane, Mennitt and Greeson. They have other plans.

Good talent level and nice facilities will lure interest from some of the top coaches around the state, not just the Charlotte area. I am sure the stack of resumes is impressive. Besides, don't they have a dome? :trophy:

You are 100% correct, Mudcat. There are quite a few coaches outside Charlotte that would love this job and have applied for it.

I don't agree with anybody's description that SM "has dried up". SM will continue to do well.

Just curious, honkers, it's obvious from your posts that you are not a Bagwell fan, but please link the quote where he said "the talent has dried up" as the reason that he moved....or is this something you heard from a parent/player?

I believe you answered your own question. SM will continue to be a great job

I heard it from him directly, at the same time he said he would like to coach his son someday, who would attend AK, if he decides to play, is good enough, and CMS has not changed the boudnaries by then.
