Anybody in the Charlotte area heading to this game tonight? I may try to watch.

Anyone know the pitching match up for this game?

    Providence is so strong

Is there really any team in the area that can compete with Providence? Who might be up there with them as the season unfolds?

    Plenty

There are plenty of teams in this area that can compete with (and beat) Providence. UNCC for one! ;-) The Charlotte Knights aren't here yet but that would be another.

    Cuthbertson can play them......

Cuthbertson was up one going into the seventh against Providence. They ultimately lost in the bottom of the 10th, 3 - 2. I like Providence, Higgie, and the boys and I'm sure that Cuthbertson would like to have another shot against the SW4A. I'm just saying.....

Avoiding the one and done rounds

To me, if Providence doesn't slip up in the ridiculous one and done rounds no one will beat them in a two out of three format. I hated the one and done last year. Now with the bbcor bats they are even more of a crap shoot. I like Cuthbertson even if I feel like I'm speaking with a lisp when I say it. Anybody can beat anybody once in a row, especially now.

When I was playing in college we almost beat the White Sox, losing 2-1. I'm pretty sure we weren't good enough to compete in the American League day in and day out.

    True...

Wouldn't mind going to an SC style where I think they have pool play up through the state championships. One and done, is definitely for the birds.

    Dominating pitchers???

Nice post, aguyyouknow; You caused me to have another thought. Who are the best ( and perhaps dominating) pitchers on other teams who are a pretty good bet to shut down Providence?

BTW, Your position on the one and done playoff system is right on. I am new
around here (TBR) so I can ask: is even the championship playoff matchup only one game? That would be crazy!
