    He is

simply the best in NC this year. He has outstanding stuff. No one can dispute that. But what makes him even more special is his toughness. The guy pitches like a linebacker stuffs a running back in the hole and plants him on his a**. You may get a big hit off of him and you may put him in a tough situation. But thats when he is even better. There is no one I would rather have on the hill in a big game than Jimmy. The kid is a fierce competitor with a tremendous amount of talent. He has all the makings of a guy that can go into college and contribute from day one. If you get the chance to see him pitch you need to go see him. Guys like JM dont come around very often. There are alot of tough gritty guys that toe the rubber. But guys with his ability that bring that same toughness to the hill are very rare. He is special. If I had a young son that aspired to pitch in hs and at the next level , I would make sure I took him to see JM pitch.

This is my opinion only: Jimmy is an excellent student and really wants to enjoy the college experience and gain a degree. That is his #1 priority and would take "life changing" money to change his mind. He has made that known, so I suspect that if he is not drafted in the top 2 rounds, he may not be drafted at all. Some of the most talented HS players from across our state are not drafted for this very reason.

Families have become much more savvy about the ML draft. If the player is a very good student, they are seriously weighing the positives of having a 4 year scholarship at a school like UNC vs the monies offered being drafted.

Of course, I do not have discussions with the Messer's, so my remarks are formed by other's feedback and my own opinion.

But either way, his future is bright
