    Remember folks, you can follow all the Rowan County games (see post 18 on first page of thread), or you can follow all of the games of the regionals or nationwide (see post 20).

    Rowan County and Sumter, SC,,,,,,, tied 0-0 with Sumter batting in bottom 4th.

    Top 8th, still 0-0.

    Sumter's pitcher Justin Montgomery has went 7 full innings, retired 10 straight, allowed 3 hits total, 9 K's, only 1 BB so far,,,,,,,,, and they're saying he's only 16 yrs.old.

    Rowan's Corbin Shive ain't done bad, 7 innings, allowed only 1 hit, 2 K's, 2 BB's.

    New pitcher (William Broome) now pitching for Sumter. Top 8th.

    Btw, of course everyone knows that Sumter has a very strong legion program, having won the SC state championship 3 of past 5 years,,, and their head coach Wally Jones had some comments about "showcase baseball" in today's Salisbury Post. His comments are at bottom of article.

    BB, wild pitch, runner on 2B, 2 outs.

    3rd out. Going to 9th inning, still tied.

    Smith F8, 2 outs.
    John Crucitti singles, Holmes scores, Rowan up 1-0, still 2 outs, Crucitti on 1B.
    N.Holmes grounds to first unassisted, 3rd out.

    Rowan leading 1-0 going into bottom 9th.

    1st batter reaches on E3. No out.
    2nd batter 463 double play, 2 out.
    Single, runner on 1B, 2 out.
    Single to LF, runners on 2B and 1B, 2 outs.
    F7, 3rd out.

    Schedule for Day 2 (on page 1 of this thread) is updated. Rowan County plays Friday night at approx. 8pm.
