This is a very cool program.

I just had my first taste of it last night .

Davidson Copperheads split with the Carolina Chaos in a double header at Davidson College.

Davidson hosts the Athens Pirates in a double header starting at 5pm.

Nice announcing and pretty darn good burgers.. i understand they were Fudruckers style.
Paid like $5 for the night. ya cant beat that.

I caught a game between the Davidson Copperheads and the Morganton Aggies earlier this year.

It's a fine way to spend a summer evening. Good baseball, and announcing. They have a live feed to internet radio and game scoring available over the internet for most games.

Lots of promise in the future for this summer league.

Headed up to Morganton next tuesday for a road trip to catch the Aggies at their home field.

The Copperheads do nothing short of first class, including their food and concessions. Careful what you wish for, Braves. Wouldn't surprise me if they had nana puddin'.

 

That's been my impression, as well, Papabear.

And, while we're sending compliments the Copperheads' way, I'd like to single out Jeff Carter, their General Manager, for special recognition. He's worked tirelessly for a long time to see that kids on the north side of Charlotte have had access to the best opportunities and facilities. Way to go, Jeff!

First Class?

Uh...guess you didn't attend the game against the Kernersville Bulldogs where both Copperhead coaches got thrown out and then threw stuff on the field as they were leaving. Their players and the young batboys had to pick up after them. Two year olds throwing temper tantrums looked more grown up than these roll models did. Then one of our mild mannered East Meck alums (we all know him) gets hit at the plate by a "wayward" pitch. Then tackled twice - once from behind and from the front side. And according to my Rock Hill sources, this almost same scenario happened against them. They also overheard the coaches "instructing" the kids to pitch the ball to hit a certain part of the body. Could be grounds for a lawsuit. First Class? Not in my book.
