The Carolina Sox are hosting this tournament on the dates of Sept. 20 and Sept 21. It will be held in the Cabarrus County area.
The Carolina Sox are ran by Bill Capps, commissioner of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League and a scout for the Chicago White Sox. Bill has been long involved with trying to provide young men a place to play baseball after high school through showcasing. I am fortunate that he asked me to help this year in running his program. I am David Large, just another baseball fanatic. It is our goal to help and assist these young men that want to play at the next level. I know for a fact that for the last three years that Sox's players that wanted to play at the next level are playing at the next level. This is the our goal.
We currently have 10 teams committed from Asheville, South Carolina, Mooresville, Statesville, Cabarrus County, and our team of players from Rowan, Stanly, Union, Richmond Counties and Hickory. If there are any other teams that want to get involved we will do our best to afford them the opportunity.
We have invited several area Colleges to be in attendance for this tournament.
On behalf of the Sox, I would like to thank TBR for letting us post about this tournament.

I am putting our contact information below for anyone interested.

    Teams

I was real impressed with the teams yesterday at Central Cabarrus. (Devil's baseball) a team from Mooresville has some players. They have three stud pitchers they threw yesterday that really impressed me with their mound presence. Write this down Mooresville High School will be very competitive in the next two to three years.
The Diamond Mine teams were very well coached and well disciplined. I love their approach to the field. They hustled the whole time, on and off the field. Their coaches were constantly coaching their players.
Last but not not least the Carolina Crusaders, they went 2-0 yesterday. They can crush the ball, the Furr boy's were very impressive ( Zach and Garrett). These young men on this team play for the love of the game, you can see it in everything they do on the field.

Did anyone see the kid who pitched the first game for the 17 year old Diamond Mine. Joey Duncan. I heard he threw 7 innings and only threw 77 pitches against that Mooresville Team and got the win. He threw in mid 80's and had great control. Looked pretty good from what I heard. He should get a note of recognition here.

The team from Mooresville only has 1 senior and the rest of the team are 11th and 10th graders. They will be tough during the high school season.
