I have started this thread with hope that players, fans, coaches, and parents in tie with the Southwestern 4A will post on here to update everyone with certain things as what each team is doing to better themselves in the fall, who is the most talented team, who has the most team chemistry, who are the top players, who are the players that no one knows about that will tear it up this year, etc. I hope that many replies come to this thread. This is one of the, if not the best conference year in and year out and there are many great things that could be discussed...Lets hear 'em. Thanks.

South Meck is starting later this year...Sept. 29th. Although the Sabres have always had their share of talent, they were missing an important ingredient to make them successful....leadership!!

I believe this year they have found it in Kyle Shelton and Zac Kennedy. These two players can carry a team on their backs and will not tolerate anything but one's best.

Although there are many quality returning players like Elliott Arrington, Brandon Stanford, Clayton Erickson, TJ Worrell and Kevin Spain; there are a slew of talented inexperienced players competing for positions....Chase Austin, C Daniel, Josh Cable, Wes Borden, Daniel Foster and a host of others.

They key for South Meck will be the play of their younger guys and the leadership of Kyle and Zac.

BUT....there is no question that the runaway winners this year will be Providence. They have 32 returning players :D..all Seniors and all extremely talented. If they don't win the conference this year...it's time to get a new coach :D:D

Doesn't this board have a prohibition against "sandbagging"?!! Br'er Braves likes to make the Other Guy (i.e. Providence) the one to shoot at!

I'll tell you that my son comes home from workouts at Providence and is so excited about the coming season. Everyone seems to really like Hignite and he seems to be taking everybody in the right direction. First time in a couple of years he is excited about High School ball and not just looking to get to the summer. Basically can have an entire starting team of seniors if they want with other seniors on the bench and more than able to fill in at many positions.

    Thanks!!

Of course, as I am getting a little older, my memory tends to cloud a bit. But I recall this time last year, I predicted Myers Park to win it all...Hmmmm...sandbaggin'?...obviously you have me confused with that guy up NORTH (Meck) that is :D...I just state facts:)

I can't wait to hear from the North Meck folks and listen to their sandbagging that they only have 3 pitchers, all of whom can top 90, and return 9 starters, all of whom can run a sub 7 sec 60.

    Yep...this should be interesting!!!

This is great guys. So I am beginning to understand that Providence is loaded. Who are they loaded with? Also, what are Ben Buchannan and the East Meck Eagles up to this fall. A report from them or on them would be great.

I think that Carl Krimminger has posted on here before, where are you Carl? How are you, DeSilva and the rest of the Raiders looking this year?

Haven't heard about Butler yet...I know of Josey, but how is Butler looking this fall.

Keep the reports and the discussions coming, so far this is great. Thanks everyone.

This isn't far from the truth. North Meck is loaded this year. Their pitching staff is tremendous and they have the position players to go with them!

North should have a great squad from top to bottom. I remember having a conversation with the shortstop and second baseman last year in the second round of the playoffs and they told me how young they were. So they should be back. My only advice is, Myers Park out of the four years that I was there was more loaded "on paper" my junior year than any other year. But due to lack of team unity, leadership, etc. we did not play to our potential. Last year's Myers Park team was the by-product of losing 10 seniors, but due to some luck with transfers and unbelievable team unity, and hard work, we played past what others expected. Like Coach Deming told us everyday, "It is not who we are playing, it is how we play the game." and there was not a team out there that played more together than the group of last year. When a team plays as one, it is a fun thing to watch and be a part of. So if North comes together and plays with confidence, they should go even deeper this year. They have a great program over there year in and year out.

Don't know how the fall is goin for East, but thre are just too many question marks after losing 5-6 starters. the only thing i think is set in stone, is Buchanan will be the #1, and teague will be in the middle of the lineup somewhere. anybody know how savago is doing?
